HEM MEKAN
03.11.2025
We were at the International Antalya Architecture Biennial from November 03-09!
As TTds, we were thrilled to provide production, implementation, and logistics support for the Hem Mekan pavilion in this year's selection.
Designed by Architect Merve Yumuk and Architect & MSc Landscape Architect Taylan Tosun, Hem Mekan is a kinetic structure that transforms from a passageway to a distinct space through user interaction, adapting to various scenarios.
Sometimes a gateway, sometimes a spot for rest or socialization... The pavilion defines its existence through contrasts—visible yet invisible, reflective yet permeable.
The production journey was as experimental and intense as the idea itself. Custom-cut chrome panels met intricate moving mechanisms. Developing, testing, and bringing this to life on-site was a complex but exciting experience, driven by collective curiosity in our workshop.
A big thank you to Merve Yumuk and Taylan Tosun for letting us be part of this journey. Special thanks to our main sponsor, Serapool Porselen, and communication sponsor, Well Urban Things, for their partnership.
Hem Mekan was a reminder that architecture is not just about form, but about thought, feeling, and encounter. Here’s to more projects where architecture meets art, and production meets deep thought.
